Like his predecessors, the film directed Michael Bay and the stars Mark Wahlberg, repeating his role in the Extinction Age, while Josh Duhamel, Jon Turtouro and Glenn Morshawar reprise their roles in The first three films, as well as Laura Haddock and Isabella. Muner, Erod Courmichael, Santiago Cabrera and Anthony Hopkins joined the cast. Return converters include Optimis Premier, Bombay, Hound, Drift, Croatsshire, Willie, Megatron and Barricade.

The film premiered at Odeon Leicester Square in London on June 18, 2017, and was released theatrically in the United States on June 21, 2017, by Paramount Pictures in 2D, 3D, IMAX and IMAX 3D. The film won worldwide acclaim and is the bestselling movie in the Transformers series. Critics focused on their length, story, direction, narration, screenings, scenario, cinematography, lack of specific characters at the time of the screen, and constant coordination changes throughout the stage, although battle scenes, musical results, visuals, and acquired acting are commended. At the 38th Golden Raspberry Awards, he was nominated for ten awards, including The Worst Fotor, Worst Director and Worst Actor for Wahlberg, but he won none of them.
